Node.js Facebook application refreshes automatically in IE

whenever I open my Facebook application in IE (having authenticated) it refreshes about twice a second. I have seen many questions about this problem both on SO (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5083484/facebook-application-refresh-automatically) and elsewhere. The only difference between the questions I have seen posted and mine is that my app is in Node.js and others (see the link above) are usually for PHP. That said, I tried putting the line mentioned in the question above <?php header('P3P:CP="IDC DSP COR ADM DEVi TAIi PSA PSD IVAi IVDi CONi HIS OUR IND CNT"'); ?> in my index.ejs file, and yesterday it did stop the refreshing. Today, however, the automatic refreshing started again. As in the answer to the link I posted above, I then tried <?php header('P3P: CP="HONK"'); ?>, that failing, I tried with the first one again, adding HONK to the list. None of these have worked, so I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas?

The app works fine in Firefox. The app was generated automatically when I set up a Node.js app on Facebook with Heroku hosting, and the only things I have changed in that code was to fix the "Post to wall" and "Send message" buttons, which were generating errors. Again, all of this functionality was working in IE yesterday when I got the app to stop refreshing, so I have no idea what went wrong. Help much appreciated! :)

Thunder hold off Lakers' late charge, win 114-108

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) ? In a reversal of roles, Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers know they're the predators trying to track down Kevin Durant's Oklahoma City Thunder.

They have some work to do.

Durant had 36 points, Russell Westbrook scored 27 of his 33 in the first half to stake Oklahoma City to a commanding lead and the Thunder beat the short-handed Lakers 114-108 Friday night.

"They're a team that everybody likes. As a young team coming up, you always want to beat the best," Westbrook said. "I think that's one of the things that motivates us."

Bryant had 35 points for Los Angeles, which trailed by as many as 19 before rallying to get within four in the final minute.

Dwight Howard added 23 points and 18 rebounds for the Lakers, who were eliminated by the Thunder in five games in last season's Western Conference semifinals. Howard and Steve Nash were part of an offseason overhaul to try and catch up to the Thunder.

Instead, the Lakers are 9-11 and focusing on small gains that give them the belief they'll eventually turn it around.

"It's 82 games. This team has just gotten together," Howard said. "It's not like we're going to get together and start winning right away. ... We're learning how to play together. We're getting better. This is not on anybody's time table but ours."

Westbrook's big first half put the Thunder in control, but L.A. charged back with a late 27-12 run to make it interesting.

The game grew tense when Metta World Peace ? already a public enemy in Oklahoma City after he clocked James Harden last season ? and Serge Ibaka each got technical fouls for a confrontation in the closing minutes.

World Peace grabbed Ibaka's back and the two barked at each other face to face and chest to chest, with Ibaka then grasping the back of World Peace's jersey. Ibaka rared back with his right fist clenched, but the two were separated before it escalated any further.

"It's always like that with us, especially Metta World Peace and Serge," Durant said. "Those guys are just playing hard. I don't think it was nothing malicious or bad plays, just guys playing hard."

The Lakers never backed down. After trailing by 12 with 1:32 remaining, Jodie Meeks drove for a pair of layups and Chris Duhon followed with a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 110-105. Bryant followed Durant's two free throws with a 3-pointer from the corner to get the deficit down to four with 15 seconds left.

Durant hit two foul shots and Meeks airballed a 3-pointer as the rally fizzled.

"They're a tough team," Durant said. "They fought hard all night and made it tough on us."

That it even ended up so close was a surprise after how the first half went, with Westbrook red hot and Oklahoma City outscoring L.A. 26-8 in fast-break points on its way to a 14-point lead.

Westbrook was in attack mode right from the start with Los Angeles missing top point guards Nash (left leg) and Steve Blake (abdominal surgery), plus All-Star forward Pau Gasol for the third straight game with tendinitis in both knees. Westbrook buried 3-pointers on two of Oklahoma City's first three possessions on his way to making a career-best five from behind the arc ? all in the first half.

"That's as good as I've seen him shoot the ball," Bryant said.

When Westbrook missed his first eight shots of the second half, Durant helped pick up the slack. He made a jumper, a 3-pointer and a runner for a personal 7-0 run that increased Oklahoma City's edge to 85-66 with 3:34 left in the third quarter.

That 19-point cushion was restored with 7:42 left in the game when Nick Collison took a charge at one end and then dunked at the other to make it 100-81. The Lakers didn't have quite enough to come back.

"We all know that the Lakers are one of the best teams," Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks said. "They don't have the record right now but they will. They're going to get some guys healthy and they're going to get some rhythm but they have the best center in basketball and they have one of the best players ever."

That still wasn't enough.

The Thunder charged ahead in the second quarter, just as they'd done in each of their previous five games ? outscoring opponents by 55 points in the period during that span.

After directing a 10-0 run earlier in the quarter, Westbrook connected on back-to-back jumpers from the right elbow and assisted on Ibaka's jumper before making a 3 from the left wing.

To top it all off, he made his fifth 3-pointer while getting fouled by Duhon ? then still went ahead with his usual celebration move of acting as though he were holstering his hands even while lying on his back.

NOTES: Howard spent time near the end of the Lakers' shootaround practicing his free throws, with Nash ? a 90-percent foul shooter in his career ? offering suggestions and even mimicking a follow through. At one point, Howard made eight in a row. "My mind cannot get clouded with everybody telling me how to shoot a free throw," said Howard, who's shooting 47 percent at the line this season. "I just have to go up there and shoot it my way and not get caught up with what everybody else is saying because that's when I miss." ... The Lakers went to see the movie "Lincoln" on their day off Thursday. Bryant joked that he didn't know what was taught in school anymore and some of his teammates might not have known Abraham Lincoln's story. "I'm curious to see if you took a poll who knew," Bryant said. "Maybe it came as a great shock to them that Lincoln died at the end of the film." ... Bryant didn't argue when told that Durant called him an "old fart." He said he calls Durant "Similac," a brand of baby formula. ... Oklahoma City recalled Daniel Orton, Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones III from Tulsa of the NBA development league. Jones was on crutches with a sprained left ankle the team referred to as mild.

Tourism Commission focuses on southern New Mexico at Silver City meeting

Click photo to enlarge

New Mexico Tourism Commissioners Al Lucero and Selena L. Chino, Tourism Commission Chairman Ted Garcia and Tourism Association of New Mexico Cabinet Secretary Monique Jacobson listen to public input at their quarterly meeting in Silver City on Friday afternoon.

SILVER CITY ? A crowd of area movers and shakers settled into the Silver City Museum Annex for the quarterly meeting of the New Mexico Tourism Commission on Friday afternoon.

The Commission and the Tourism Association of New Mexico decided to hold their meeting in Silver City after they heard about the Tamal Fiesta y Mas through their close work with the Southwest New Mexico Green Chamber of Commerce and other area tourism groups.

The panel, which includes commissioners Al Lucero, Selena L. Chino, Chris Stagg and Randy Randall, Commission Chairman Ted Garcia and Tourism Association of New Mexico Cabinet Secretary Monique Jacobson, discussed the status of the "New Mexico True" campaign, initiatives to bring tourism to southern New Mexico, legislative talking points, and laws affecting businesses whose presence in the state would bolster the economy.

The crowd featured representatives of the Gila National Wilderness, Grant County Prospectors, the Silver City Museum, the Green Chamber, the Tour of the Gila bicycle race, the Grant County Trails group and State Rep. Rudy Martinez, just to name a few.

The New Mexico True advertising campaign is designed to take advantage of the state's beautiful landscape and inform people around the country about the culture, history, and natural qualities New Mexico brings to the table as a tourism destination. One of the campaign's main features is a series of ads featuring a large photograph of a tourist site in the state and a fact with "True" or "False" boxes.

The True campaign has run in the California and now Chicago markets with goals to increase its presence in Chicago. The commission has seen a 50 to 300 percent increase in website visits in the markets into which the ads have already run.

The campaign also has an asset website where communities can go create their own ads. Silver City has done just that, and it is clear this community is not just another small town in New Mexico.

"Silver City is a perfect example of a community maintaining its own spirit while working with True," said Jacobson, so has worked closely with the Silver City Visitor Center over the last few months.

Any business can go to www.newmexico.org and follow instructions to be listed on the site for free. When a business does so, its business or event is also sent directly to New Mexico magazine.

The campaign seems to be working. In the 2010-2011 season, New Mexico saw a 5 percent growth in overall visitors, a 12 percent growth in people making New Mexico their main destination and a 9 percent growth in average spending per trip to the state.

The commissioners also urged locals to speak with their local legislators to support measures that will bolster tourism.

"Tourism pays for about 4,000 teachers' salaries in New Mexico a year," Jacobson said. "Without the money it brings in, taxes would be $747 higher for the average household. So, people who think they're not affected by tourism, they are."

"It's important our legislators know this isn't about throwing money into this thing called advertising," said commissioner Randall. "It isn't. It is a proven process."

One of the big topics was New Mexico losing competitiveness to other states in regard to the space travel industry. A bill last year that would have provided limited liability protection to spaceport parts suppliers failed to pass in the Legislature. Similar laws have been passed in Florida, Texas, Colorado and Virginia, making them potentially more appealing to industry giants like Virgin Galactic who have been associated with Spaceport America, commissioners said.

The commission then opened the meeting up to public input, where several folks asked for a list of legislators who were going to be making the decisions in question. They were given the House Appropriations and the Senate Finance committees as good gateways, but told to speak, too, with local representatives.

More of the crowd came forward to discuss the fire season image and problems with strict liquor laws making business and tourism difficult. The panel gave advice as to organizations' future steps.

In response to all of these concerns, Chairman Garcia invited everyone present to the state Tourism Day in Santa Fe on Jan. 29, where lawmakers, the commission and tourism leaders will be meeting and discussing tourism issues with the public.

India finally worked out a way to dismiss Alastair Cook but couldn't prevent England building a commanding first-innings lead on day three in Kolkata.?England closed on 509-6, 193 ahead, and will have been further encouraged by a pitch showing signs of unreliable bounce and a bit of turn. Cook had strutted to 190 from 377 balls, surviving a dolly of a return catch spilled by Ishant Sharma before lunch, but his luck ran out in the afternoon session in a bizarre incident.

With India's fielders hot, frustrated and demoralised, no-one could blame Virat Kohli for hurling the ball speculatively at the non-striker's stumps after Kevin Pietersen had flicked the ball to him at square leg. Cook, who'd been backing up as normal, moved to touch his bat down in the crease but took instinctive evasive action as the ball was wanged in his direction. In doing so, he fatally lifted his bat - crucially, *before* touching it down - and was then horrified to see the stumps shattered. It was the first run-out in his entire career.

The method of his departure will no doubt haunt him, but in time he will reflect on his highest score as Test captain and his fifth century in five matches since assuming control from Andrew Strauss. He laid the platform for what is still likely to be an England victory push, even if several of those lower down the order didn't build on it all that convincingly.

After a wicketless morning session in which Cook and Trott scored slowly and methodically, India belatedly got a breakthrough when Trott pressed forward in defence and edged Pragyan Ojha's turner to MS Dhoni for 87.

Cook's curious aberration followed seven overs later, then new daddy Ian Bell went for a pretty dreadful five from 23 balls, lazily driving with no footwork and an angled bat to Sharma and getting a thin inside-edge through to Dhoni.

Kevin Pietersen had just begun to look good following a watchful start, but on 54 he was out lbw, missing with a sweep to a straight-ish ball from Ashwin that was arguably going on to clip leg stump.

When Samit Patel became Ojha's third victim, edging a 'please hit me' short, wide ball to Virender Sehwag at slip for 33, it looked as if England may blow a golden chance to rack up a lead of 200 plus. But a late, rapid, unbroken partnership of 56 between Matt Prior (40no) and Graeme Swann (21no) ensured England's position of command remained intact.
