Teddy Bear Parade winds through the streets of historic downtown
GRESHAM, Ore. - The streets of historic downtown Gresham came alive on Saturday as kids of all ages, and plenty of adults, showed up with teddy bears for the city's big annual 'Teddy Bear Parade.'
This was the 30th year for the parade, which is one of the city's biggest events.
Gresham Mayor Shane Bemis, along with City Council members, took the lead as participants fell in behind and followed them through town.
The parade helps Soroptomist raise funds for its organization but ask any member and they'll tell you it's mostly about the kids and giving them an opportunity to be involved in a fun, local event.
